I recently switched from apache to nginx_apache config and with nginx mod_security enabled most sites on my server slowed down. I disabled mod_security (/etc/nginx/nginx-modsecurity-enable.conf, ModSecurityEnabled off) and everything is now working correctly but i don't want to disable modsec completely. Is there any possibility to disable mod_security rules in nginx and enable them on apache?

The last time I updated Apache (2.4.23--> 2.4.25) it causes some trouble at midnight and I found out the next moing. I had to hire someone to fix it to 2.4.23 again. And he did it pretty fast.
I see version 2.4.27 waiting to be installed but I'm a bit worried since my last Apache update...

I encourage my users to use Installatron to make an automatisch daily/weekly/monthly backup. These are placed in /application_backups in the user home folder. Unfortunately this means they get added to home.tar.gz inside the directadmin user/reseller/admin level backups. Basically I am making backup of backups. Today I saw a user bloat his backup file from 1 GB to over 7 GB, just because he kept a few backups.

I started asking Installatron if I could move this directory to /user_backups (since that is ignored by the backup system), but after a while they told me it was hardcoded.

Is there someway I can tell DA to ignore /application_backups just like it is ignoring /admin_backups and /user_backups ?

We seen occasional crawlers, possible searching for vulnerabilities, requesting many PHP pages at once on different domains.
This causes load to spike, and eventually long (>10 seconds) load times for legitimate requests.

I was wondering if there is an apache module that could limit PHP process requests per remote IP.
for example: 4 PHP requests at once / IP, consecutive requests should be queued for later processing.
And excluding other requests (like CSS, images, html,...)

This should be a sort of QOS-like system to prevent overloading.

- upstream prematurely closed coection while sending to client
- no upstream configuration
